There are few things more inspiring than a Norwegian autumn. Nature paints the most beautiful portrait with its warm and comforting color palette of red, gold and orange foliage. I am so lucky that I can just walk outside to be surrounded by it all.
To bring the coziness of the season to my home, I source pieces and parts of the outdoors. This past weekend I hosted friends and family for a dinner party and created a festive autumn table.
Want to do it yourself?
Start with a soothing color palette. I personally love orange, yellow, green and grey, so I brought these hues to my table through placemats, napkins and a centerpiece. These tones mix well with others for an inviting atmosphere. Hint: Our 2017 signal color ties right in! We’ll introduce you to it in the coming months.
Then, turn to your own backyard. Collect items you can easily bring inside to add to your table. I have collected leaves to place on the table and tie on to napkin rings.
Once you have your color scheme and theme for your centerpiece set, add flowers. I have a gorgeous bush in my backyard that is a nice shade of burgundy this year, so I decided to pull from that for my flower arrangement with a few seasonal berries growing nearby.
Now that the table is set add matching accessories to other parts of your home. I collected leaves for a few vases throughout my living room, like the one below placed on my window sill. Make it cozy by adding candles and then rejoice with your loved ones.
There’s something about the change of seasons that makes me want to enjoy my indoor space. Bringing parts of the outdoors in makes it even more enjoyable. I’ve been so excited that I’ve applied the same theme of autumn hues throughout our showroom in Ålesund!
I bring you warm greetings for a nice autumn both outside an inside!
